Russell & Jeffcoat Realtor Receives Spirit Award

Columbia, SC- Sarah Leverette, an agent at the Forest Acres office, has received the 2008 Dublin-Robinson Consumer Champion Award by the SC Department of Consumer Affairs.

The 2008 Consumer Spirit Awards ceremony will be held in Columbia at the South Carolina Statehouse Capitol Rotunda room on Wednesday, February 27 at 10 a.m. The award is given for exemplary work on behalf of South Carolina consumers. The recipient shows outstanding efforts to inform consumers and actively serves their community as an advocate and volunteer.

A SC native, Leverette graduated magna cum laude from USC in 1940. She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1943 after graduating from the USC School of Law, the only woman in her class. In 1947, Sarah was invited to the USC School of Law as the law librarian, where she also taught legal research and earned a place on the faculty, where she remained until 1971. In 1972, she was appointed the position of an industrial commissioner on the Workman’s Compensation Commission, from which she later retired and joined the real estate field.
